What if you took every person in Australia and gave him or her a Botox injection, a facelift, liposuction, or a chemical peel? Then you would have over 20 millions procedures to do.
In effect, that is what happened last year, according to statistics recently released by the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS). Those statistics show that in 2014 there were over 20 million cosmetic procedures performed worldwide, both surgical and non-surgical.
Of course, leading the pack was Botox, the king of cosmetic procedures. Over 4.8 million Botox injections were provided in 2014. It’s been that way every year since Botox was introduced in 2002.
Here are some highlights from the ISAPS statistics.
