Radiesse Loves the Lower Face

radiesseYour mother always told you to drink your milk to get your calcium. Your skin loves calcium, too, calcium microspheres.

Huh?

The dermal filler Radiesse has calcium microspheres that add structure under the skin and trigger collagen production. See? Your Mom knew what she was talking about!

What is Radiesse?

Radiesse is a synthetic dermal filler. This is in contrast to “natural” fillers that are made of hyaluronic acid. Radiesse is a synthetic filler that uses a two-pronged approach to plumping the skin and filling wrinkles. First, those calcium microspheres are suspended in a water-based gel. Together they add structure under the skin where collagen has dwindled. Second, those same microspheres, as the body eventually absorbs them, trigger a response to produce new collagen in the area of the injection.

How does it work?

Radiesse has thousands of shrimpy calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres suspended in a water-based gel. Once it’s injected under the skin it provides immediate volume and correction as the microspheres help build support in areas where volume has dropped. Then as the body absorbs the CaHA, a reaction is triggered where the body produces new collagen. This collagen production supports the skin for up to one year.

What issues does Radiesse address?

Radiesse likes the lower face. It’s excellent for filling smile lines that run from the nose down to the corners of the mouth, marionette lines (the lines running downward from the corners of the mouth), pre-jowl folds, drooping corners of the mouth, and chin wrinkles.
