Now You Don’t See It — the Back Lift

back liftAs we age everything sags. Couple natural aging with the loss of a good deal of weight and there will be sagging everywhere. The loose skin on your stomach? You’ll see that every time you look in the mirror. But, while you may have just as much hanging, loose skin on your back, you’ll never see it. So, it’s an easy area to overlook.

Every now and then you’ll catch a glimpse, though, and then you’ll try and hide the situation. If you’re a man, you’ll keep your shirt on. If you’re a woman, you’ll wear full-covering clothes. And once that skin has become saggy, it’s very difficult to get it to tighten back down to its former degree of tautness.

That’s when a back lift from Dr. Lavey could be helpful. Cosmetic back lift surgery reduces the amount of excess flesh across the back to address those unwanted bulges through the middle and upper back, including the underarm areas.

How do I know a back lift would help me?

If you’re a woman, excess back skin tends to be concentrated around the bra area. If it’s bad enough, just wearing a bra can be uncomfortable. If this is the case, you’re probably hesitant to wear a swimsuit or a backless dress.

For men, their loose skin tends to accumulate lower, usually around the waist area. This makes for prominent love handles and a low-hanging appearance.

What will a back lift do?

These are the benefits of a back lift with Dr. Lavey:

  • Improved back appearance
  • Increased comfort and clothing fit
  • Improved self-esteem
  • Minimal scarring
  • Fast recovery

How is it done?

Dr. Lavey performs a back lift with a small incision around the mid-back area. He first removes excess fat and trims loose skin. Then he stretches and re-positions the remaining skin into a tighter contour, securing it with sutures.

Afterwards, we’ll put you in a compression garment to help minimize scarring and to help the skin tighten down to its new, firmer contours.
