How to Banish the Dreaded Bread Back

Muffin tops, love handles, thunder thighs — those are all problems for cosmetic surgery to address. But rolls of back fat, also known as bread back or back rolls, are another common reason that prompts women to consider cosmeticDreaded Bread Back surgery.

For most of these women, they have tried all types of exercises — from cardio to bodyweight exercises — but they can’t get rid of their troublesome lumpy folds of fat and excess skin just underneath the bra bands. This cosmetic concern typically happens following massive weight loss or childbirth.

The solution

These tiny bulges of fat and sagging skin on the back can be reduced through liposuction and/or a body lift. Back liposuction involves making tiny incisions, and then inserting a cannula to suction out excess fat. In most cases, liposuction is enough to improve the overall appearance of the back. However, a body lift may be necessary for those with excess skin issues. A standard body lift helps get rid of skin rolls for a more contoured and tighter looking back.

Significant improvements will be immediately noticeable following back liposuction and/or a back lift. However, desired outcomes minus the bruising and swelling will show themselves on the third to fourth week post-surgery.
